Picking on the "Occupy Movement" seems to be the trend these days among several of facebookers twitterers social sites etc. ... Seems everyday I go online in the social world or the news and read about someone slamming them, making jokes or just plain being mean yelling "Get a Job ya hippy!" or " what the *&%$ are you accomplishing?" ... Regardless of the slander or wonder or jokes - Isnt it too easy? I mean what are you accomplishing? IN fact you are probably part of the upper 70 percent of the 99% who really doesn't care. You really dont give a crap because you are comfortable. Comfortable with most of the reasons the lower 20-30percent of the 99% that are struggling and give a crap about the injustice and corruptions that are going on in our country ... and until you have your job mortgage or income swept out from underneath you and your family, you will go on thinking the same way .... "eh im comfortable and not concerned ... don't care" That is an actual response Ive gotten from friends of mine who along with their spouse make over 100K a year combined .... So you are ok with CEO's making 150-200% more than the average median worker in the company? (and by average median worker we are talking Development Engineers that give away their ideas in patents and get an atta boy for it.)
We as americans should have the right to negotiate our pay and working conditions and stop corporations from outsourcing jobs for cheaper labor costs and not having to pay workers benefits. ...
Comfortable with Banks being able to sell your mortgage to another lendor make money of it and inform you after the deal is done ... "Hey we now own your loan and by the way that old mortgage contract well.... its gonna change" ...
Comfortable with Taxpayer bailouts ( i shouldnt need to explain that one any further) .... Im not talking about total socialism here but it would be nice if people were more social about these issues instead of mocking joking or being mean ... Dont get me wrong I can take a good joke like anyone ... in fact yeah bring on the Whitney Houston jokes whatever floats your boat as long as you arent hurting anyone in the process, I think Its your right (in bad taste or not) that's just opinion. ... In fact i'll laugh when they do skits on SNL about it. Wait does tha make me a hypocrite? Oh crap darnit oh well ill be forgiven, ( shhh but i gotta alotta people praying for me).
But really taking a part of your day or a few minutes of your life to joke, rant about or be mean to Occupy people or Oh heres a good one that ruffles the feathers ... all the welfare people scamming the system! LOL Hey I got a solution to that ... Take the money in the War on drugs and get more welfare fraud investigators ...
I dont have all or most of the answers ... Im just a part of the lowest percentile of the 99% who has been hit hard these last 4 years .... Ive gone from making a modest over 50 grand a year single person, a months pay in the bank for emergency's etc. to being laid off not able to find a job above 10 bucks an hour, living off unenjoyment, spending my retirement and getting taxed 33% for doing so, (yeah wheres my Romney 15% capital gains tax now?) losing my apartment, and basically being homeless living out of my vehicle at times... Hey! ya do what ya gotta do ... I never thought I would even make near 50k a year much less drive a new car so my goals and expectations were blown away ... I was raised by a single mother who worked a 2nd shift job just to make an extra few hundred a month so we could live where we did ... Ya think thats a great life for a child growing up, seeing his parent basically on weekends?
This is important because I think the movement should be the 30% ... The 30% of the lower so called middle class that have it rough and are tired of the way our country is run by corruption and the unjust wars that we sacrifice human beings to bring so called peace ... Most will just yell oh shut up get another job and work harder ... Ummm yeah thats an intelligent response (rolls eyes)...
Well enough about me and back on subject .... All I guess I'm trying to say is I'm sticking up for the lil guy ... the bullied picked on joked on etc. ... Let's pick on the Wall Street guys controlling and manipulating our economy ... Let's pick on our congress who can't even settle on something that will bring good to this nation even if it costs some money .... Lets pick on someone like Ignorant Rush Limbaugh supporters ... Now theres where we need to focus some effort .. Educating and Informing those ignorant types ...
I dont have any answers for the Occupy Movement ... I have wondered myself as I went out there a few times "what am I accomplishing?" .... In fact, The next time I went I handed one of the rochester movement protesters a printed stack of the Declaration that occupywallstreet.org published ... She thought it was great and I thought it was important not only for those there to know why but the passers by who question "What the hell are you protesting?" ...
As i said i dont have the answers ... I do have ideas though .. One would be concentrate your jokes picking on, jesting and hate in a direction that its needed annnnnd Hey maybe take your money and join a credit union ... Now that would shock the system ...
